A beautiful and moving photo essay on the aftermath of Sandy found in Time Magazine. The Eastern Seaboard still needs so much help. Waves for Water have been a huge help out in the Rockaways. Check out their site for ways to get involved from near or far.

I'm not one for the Winter, although I have lived through several here and in Paris, I still can't get used to the piles of clothes, the indoors, and the early sunsets... When others anticipate the first snow fall with excitement I usually sigh as the last days of fall fade to a snowy, wet winter...

As I sit here on the second "snow" day of this NYC winter I've decided to embrace it this year, to forget how cold it is and suck it up and just BUY that hideous puffer coat and get out there and enjoy the snow! There must be something magical about it if SO many people love it so much... Paolo Roversi sure makes it look magical in the above images taken for W magazine in 2010.

…the important point here is not that you have—or don’t have—what other artists have, but rather that it doesn’t matter. whatever they have is something needed to do their work—it wouldn’t help you in your work even if you had it. their magic is theirs. you don’t lack it. you don’t need it. it has nothing to do with you. period.

When the girls at Free People shared these images of their newly released hand painted skate decks I instantly fell in love. How better to get around Brooklyn than with one of these beautiful hand painted little numbers! These are so pretty and unique I had to know what they were inspired by. From vintage flower prints and Henna tattoos to Italian Vogue these girls searched far and wide and came up with some beautiful finished results! To see more visit Free People !

If you live here like I do, you LOVE this city and the people in it.. Even if you don't live here I know so many of you love this city like your own and are looking for ways to help. After the storm I was at a loss for how to get involved so I compiled a list of helpful links on how to help New York and New Jersey residents who have lost so much after Sandy.

If you live in New York:

This is an amazing site where you can sign up to help out in Parks, Art Centers, Food Banks and Shelters
